Plastic Alternative
Wheat drinking straws are a superior alternative to plastic due to their biodegradability and eco-friendliness. Made from renewable wheat stems—a harvesting byproduct—they decompose in 1-3 months, unlike plastic's centuries-long persistence and microplastic pollution.
100% plant-based and BPA-free, they're safe for users and wildlife. They stay firm in cold drinks for hours, matching plastic's functionality while repurposing agricultural waste. Opting for them cuts fossil fuel use, reduces carbon emissions, and supports sustainability without sacrificing convenience.

User Guide
Each 20cm straw is made from the leftover wheat stem after grain harvesting, giving new purpose to agricultural byproducts that would otherwise go to waste. Unlike paper straws, wheat straws won't get soggy during use and contain no plastic coating, providing a natural drinking experience without affecting the taste of your beverage.
These straws are designed for single-use and require no maintenance or cleaning. Store unused straws in a cool, dry place away from moisture to maintain their quality until needed. While they're sturdy enough to last through your entire drink, they're not suitable for hot beverages as heat may soften the natural wheat material. The straws work best when used within a few hours—extended soaking in liquids will eventually cause them to soften, though they'll still outperform traditional paper straws.
After use, these wheat straws are 100% biodegradable and can be added directly to your home compost bin where they'll naturally decompose alongside other organic materials. If composting isn't available, dispose of them in general waste or green waste bins—as natural plant material, they'll break down completely without leaving microplastics or harmful residues. You can also bury them in your garden where they'll enrich the soil as they decompose. These straws represent a truly circular solution, transforming agricultural waste into a functional product that returns to the earth.
Wheat Material
Wheat drinking straws are manufactured by harvesting leftover wheat stems after grain collection, cleaning and sterilizing them with hot water or steam to remove residues, then cutting to uniform lengths, drying naturally or in low-energy ovens, and packaging without chemicals or adhesives.
Eco benefits include full biodegradability in 1-3 months in soil or compost, zero microplastic release, reduced landfill burden, lower carbon footprint from local sourcing and short supply chains, and support for circular agriculture by turning waste into functional products.
FAQ
Can you use for hot drinks?
Yes, wheat straws can be used for hot drinks like tea or coffee. However, they work best with warm to moderately hot beverages. Extremely hot liquids may soften the straw more quickly.
Can you cut down?
Yes, you can cut wheat straws to your desired length using scissors or a sharp knife. This allows you to customize them for different glass sizes or drinks.
Can you wash and reuse?
While wheat straws are designed as single-use disposable straws, you can rinse and reuse them for a short time if handled gently. However, they will eventually soften and break down with repeated use and washing.
Do they have a coating?
No, wheat straws are made from 100% natural organic wheat stems with no plastic coating or added chemicals. They're completely natural and biodegradable.
What is the best way to dispose?
Wheat straws are fully compostable. Add them to your home compost bin, garden compost, or organic waste bin. They'll break down naturally and quickly, returning nutrients to the soil without harming the environment.
