Eco Filtered Water

Switch to bamboo charcoal filter sticks and ditch plastic systems for a smarter, eco-friendly choice. Unlike bulky plastic pitchers or cartridges that leach microplastics and clog landfills (over 60 million discarded yearly in the US), bamboo charcoal is 100% natural and renewable, regrowing in 3-5 years without chemicals. It adsorbs chlorine, heavy metals, and odors—cutting chlorine up, while adding minerals for tastier, alkaline water. Reusable for 3-6 months with monthly boiling.

Product Highlights

Product Info

Bamboo charcoal water filter sticks are crafted from sustainably harvested Moso bamboo, aged 4+ years, then carbonized in oxygen-free clay kilns at 800–1,000°C for 7–10 days to form ultra-porous, high-density charcoal with 300–600 m² surface area per gram. Naturally activated during pyrolysis—no chemicals used—the sticks are cleaned with 120°C purified water.

User Guide

This traditional bamboo charcoal water filter stick provides a zero-waste alternative to plastic water filters. Before first use, rinse the stick under running water to remove excess charcoal powder, then boil for 10 minutes to sterilize. Once cooled and dried, place it in a container or jug filled with 2-3 liters of tap water and leave for at least 8 hours for optimal filtration. The activated charcoal works by adsorbing impurities while releasing beneficial minerals like potassium and magnesium into your water, improving taste and reducing the typical "tap water" odor. The stick may float initially but will sink after about a week of use.

Re-sterilize your charcoal filter by boiling it for 10 minutes after every 10 uses to maintain its effectiveness, then allow it to cool and dry completely before returning it to your water container. Replace the filter stick after approximately 3 months of use. This high-quality Japanese bamboo charcoal is made by experienced craftsmen using traditional clay kiln methods, heating bamboo to 1000°C to create activated charcoal with superior adsorbing properties. Regular boiling and proper drying between uses ensures your filter remains clean and functional throughout its lifespan.

After 3 months when your water filter stick is no longer effective for water purification, don't throw it away—give it a second life!

Multipurpose Usage

The charcoal naturally regulates moisture, reduces odors, inhibits mold, and keeps food fresh. Repurpose it in moldy bathroom corners, inside your fridge or bread bin, in smelly shoes, drawers that need to stay dry, or near the toilet for odor control. Once the charcoal has served all purposes, it's fully compostable—simply break it into smaller pieces and add to your garden or compost bin where it will naturally decompose and enrich the soil.

How can we help?

FAQ

How long will they last?

The bamboo charcoal water filter stick will effectively filter water for approximately 3 months with regular use. After this period, it can be repurposed for odor control, moisture regulation, or keeping food fresh around your home.

What happens if they break?

If the charcoal stick breaks, it's still safe and functional. You can continue using the pieces in your water or repurpose them for deodorizing shoes, the fridge, or damp areas. Broken pieces work just as effectively.

Is it safe to ingest?

The bamboo charcoal stick itself should not be ingested—it's designed to filter water by sitting in it. However, the filtered water is completely safe to drink. The charcoal adds beneficial minerals like potassium and magnesium while removing impurities and odors.
